Accreditations and Memberships

Institutional Accreditation

In Germany, private universities must be accredited by the Science Council (Wissenschaftsrat). The Science Council is a body organized by federal and state governments carrying out institutional accreditations. It is checked whether the university meets the necessary scientific, financial and personnel quality standards. Berlin International was institutionally accredited by the Science Council in 2019 and thus meets all the requirements for state recognition. The accreditation was granted for five years.

Accreditation of Study Programs

In addition to the university, all study programs must also be accredited. This is done by the “Foundation Accreditation Council” (Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat). All study programs at Berlin International are accredited in cooperation with the accreditation agency ACQUIN e.V. (Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute). All courses at BI are either accredited or in the process of (re)accreditation.

Member of the Amazon Web Services Academy

Berlin International partners with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy to complement the cloud computing curriculum. AWS Academy courses are developed by AWS and taught by AWS Academy-accredited instructors. In order to be accredited, the lecturers go through professional training and then receive the AWS certification.

Code of Conduct for International Students at German Universities

Berlin International has voluntarily committed itself to the code of conduct for the equal treatment of international students developed by the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). International students have the same status as German or European students in all aspects of their studies.

Association of Private Universities (VPH)

Berlin International is a member of the Association of Private Universities in Germany. The VPH is committed to represent the interests of private higher education institutions in Germany with the goal to ensure a pluralistic university system for the benefit of students and society.

Federal Association of Deans in Business Administration

The Faculty of Economics at Berlin International is a member for the exchange of information and experience in science management.
