Omer Polak, B.A.
Architecture
Omer Polak is an Israeli-born and Berlin-based artist and designer. He graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, the one-year program at the Design Academy Eindhoven, and also holds a Master in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship from ECAL, Switzerland. Curiosity for materials, science, and innovation led him to focus on the sensory experience of the world through the lenses of art, products, and interiors. He uses a multidisciplinary approach in order to explore the relationship between man, nature, and technology. Polak established his studio in Berlin in 2019 and he is collaborating with scientists and research institutions worldwide. Polak presented S-SENSE (smell design research) during TEDx, Lausanne and his works were featured in various group exhibitions around the world. Polak is a guest lecturer in Shenkar College of Engineering and Design TLV and he is frequently leading design workshops at a variety of universities. Polak is also the Israeli Ministry of Culture Prize winner in the field of Visual Arts and Design for 2016. He won the Corr77 award in the Food Design category twice and his works are part of the permanent collection of the Design Museum Holon.
