Prof. Behar-Villegas interviewed for China Daily
Prof. Dr. Erick Behar-Villegas, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at Berlin International, was recently interviewed for China Daily about the Peruvian elections.
Left-wing union leader Pedro Castillo, who was little known to Peruvians just a few months ago, has claimed victory in Peru's presidential election. Castillo began his political career in the rural areas, where he was a primary school teacher and held a leadership position with unions linked to the education sector.
Prof. Dr. Behar-Villegas explains that Castillo's victory will have a major impact both politically and economically, as Castillo plans fundamental changes in the country's economic system. These plans will bring great uncertainty to both Peru and the region.
Prof. Dr. Behar-Villegas also stresses that Castillo's reforms will have an impact on the copper market, as Peru is heavily dependent on its mining exports.
