Augmented Intelligence Lecture on YouTube!

As part of the Open Lecture series this semester, Prof. Dr. Florian Artinger gave a talk on "Augmented Intelligence: Combining Human and Machine Intelligence."

Prof. Dr. Florian Artinger is the head of the Digital Business & Management bachelor program at Berlin International, co-founder and managing partner of Simply Rational - The Decision Institute and an associate researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. His work combines research, teaching and consulting on human behavior and machine learning.

In his talk, Prof. Artinger explored the following question: "Can machine learning algorithms make better decisions than humans?". Using a variety of examples ranging from shopping on Amazon to court decisions in the U.S., the talk explored where human intuition and algorithms intersect. Prof. Artinger showed when it is best to rely on human judgment, when it is best to rely on machine learning, and when it is best to combine the two.
