Federal Cross of Merit for Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Klingemann

Berlin International is pleased to announce that its Honorary President Prof. Dr. Hans-Dieter Klingemann has been awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon. The award recognizes his outstanding achievements in empirical social research, particularly in the areas of voting behavior and political attitudes, as well as his leading role in the founding of Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, which he presided over as President from 2014 to February 2020.

As founding president, Prof. Dr. Klingemann played a key role in shaping the BI and worked to establish it as an international meeting place. He has been Honorary President since 2020, the university library bears his name since 2019.

President Prof. Yüksel Pöğün-Zander, PhD, emphasizes: "The award is a well-deserved recognition of his achievements and commitment. We appreciate his commitment to educational institutions as places of social and intercultural encounter."
