Futuros Posibles Exhibition in Alboraya
We are delighted to announce the forthcoming "Futuros Posibles" Exhibition in Alboraya, a momentous event that presents the hard work and dedication of our students in developing possible proposals for the former Bodegas Vinival industrial site on Patacona Beach.
This exhibition, slated to take place in Alboraya's esteemed cultural center, represents the culmination of a remarkable journey undertaken by a group of dedicated BA Interior Architecture/Interior Design students hailing from the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences.
The 14-meter high, 3,800 m² main building, designed by architects Luis Gay and José Antonio Hoyos Viejobueno, was inaugurated in 1969. After decades in use for the production, bottling, and distribution of wine, the activity ceased in 2008. Despite the deterioration suffered, the impressive architecture of Bodegas Vinival persists and is presented as a key element in the future development of the Patacona neighborhood and the Valencian seafront.
During the spring semester, our talented students embraced a compelling challenge: to conceptualize and propose visionary transformations for the former industrial site of Bodegas Vinival, a historic edifice nestled serenely along the pristine shores of Patacona Beach in Alboraya. Their mission was to infuse this architectural gem with new life and purpose, envisioning it as a versatile recreational center catering to both public and private interests.
Guided by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Prof. Javier Martín, and Professor of the BA Interior Architecture/Interior Design, Prof. John Tubles, these students embarked upon an intellectual and creative odyssey of remarkable proportions. The fruits of their labor and the embodiment of their innovative spirits are poised to grace the galleries of the Futuros Posibles Exhibition, providing an exceptional opportunity for Alboraya's residents and admirers to explore the myriad Possible Futures envisioned for Bodegas Vinival.
About the project
At the heart of this exhibition lie the Bachelor Thesis projects, the culminating endeavors of our esteemed BA Interior Architecture/Interior Design students, who we now proudly can call BI Alumni. These projects have yielded eight distinguished outcomes, the result of the collective efforts of twelve students, some of whom collaborated in project teams. Each project contributes a unique perspective and approach to the rejuvenation of Vinival Winery, ensuring a diverse and enthralling experience for all who attend.
Here is a glimpse of the projects that shall grace the exhibition:
- DESKMATE meets Valencia Experience Center by Maryamossadat Borghei & Hai Linh Dinh
- Vinival Community Center by Yang Gu & Marieke Henklein
- Vinival Cultural Foundation by Leon Hertle
- Innovation Hub by Janine Huebener & Uafaa Saad
- La Bodega by Marcia Koch
- Vinival Recreational Center by Alexandra Sadikova & Christopher Schwarz
- Fundación Loewe by Nora Gustafsson Rida
- Vinival MODCA by Alice Brindemark
Each of these projects delves into a diverse array of design strategies, encompassing the creation of spaces dedicated to healing, the celebration of craftsmanship and heritage, the encouragement of cultural movements and digital art, and the design of multipurpose engagement and inclusive, collaborative areas.
Through approaches that embrace sustainable cultural centers, redefine community spaces, offer immersive experiences, and provide modern workplace solutions, the exhibition promises to inspire and enlighten.
The BA Interior Architecture/Interior Design program at the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences is the perfect launchpad for those seeking to unleash their creative potential and shape spaces that inspire and engage.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at the Futuros Posibles Exhibition to celebrate the joint success of our students!
