Abdulah about Business Administration at BI
"Studying at Berlin International was diverse, insightful, and fun!"
Our future graduate student Abdulah Kameric is sharing his experiences studying at Berlin International. He expressed the reasons for studying at BI, what were the most joyful memories on this ride, his best memories, and the benefits of studying next to people from all around the world while having professors with a wide scope of knowledge and experience in different sectors of the economy.
Our BA program in Business Administration: International Management & Marketing focuses on developing strategic and critical thinking along with skills that will help the students face the different challenges they would need to face in a multinational corporation or start-up. In the various lectures, seminars, hands-on activities, work, guest talks, and visits to learn to manage, guide and motivate a diverse workforce, organize projects, and devise international management and marketing strategies. Abdulah is from Seattle, Washington (US); he likes to play chess and ride his bike, and he happens to be a professional basketball player, currently playing for Bamberg, a German professional basketball team. Abdulah has managed to complete his studies while practicing his favorite sport, thus becoming a professional in both fields of his life.
When we asked Abdulah why he joined BI, here is what he said:
“The reason why I chose BI for my studies was because I wanted to study in English and focus on business management in an international sense, and the university location in Berlin was also convenient for me. What most attracted my attention in the program was the opportunity to learn about how businesses function and how finance comes into play when it comes to doing business.
Additionally, what I really like about BI is the international environment because you are able to learn about business management with a diverse set of cultures in class and see many different insightful perspectives, management, and ideas on various topics while doing interesting projects with friends, and attending lectures that enrich my knowledge.
I would definitely say that my best experience at BI was when we each had to create our own business in the entrepreneurship class, and every group came up with different ideas on how to turn a profit from a 50 euro initial investment from our instructor working together with my group to create a BI sweater was very fun! My future career plan is to continue in basketball first; I eventually would like to open my own business or work somewhere in the finance sector.”
