Staff Mobility
For more than 25 years, the European Union has funded staff mobility alongside student mobility, first through Erasmus and since 2014 through Erasmus+. While student mobility remains the focus, the initiative also offers additional opportunities, funded by the European Commission, for staff to teach and train across Europe.
The mobility opportunities are open to both academic and non-academic staff.
If you would like to spend a period of time at Berlin International or one of our partner universities, please note the following information.
Learn more about the options for staff mobility!
At Berlin International, we can host staff from all our partner institutions for training mobilities (STT). Unfortunately, due to the high level of demand we receive, we are not able to host staff from non-partner institutions.
This activity supports the professional development of non-academic staff in particular, in the form of participation in specific training events or job shadowing. If you would like to organize a job shadowing mobility at Berlin International, please enquire with our administrative and service departments and send us your CV together with a letter of motivation explaining who specifically you would like to shadow and what you hope to learn from your mobility with us. These documents should be sent to the International Exchange Office via e-mail at least one month before the planned visit date.
Please note that due to capacity reasons we can only offer a maximum of one or two days of shadowing in one department, although mobility can be spread over several departments. If you would like to visit more than one department, please indicate this in your motivation letter and name the individual staff members you would like to accompany you.
Further information is available here.
At Berlin International, we are able to host staff from all of our teaching mobility partner institutions (STA). Unfortunately, due to the high level of interest, we receive, we are unable to host staff from non-partner institutions.
Teaching mobility must involve a minimum of eight hours of teaching activity. This activity can take many forms, e.g. workshops, lectures, participation in examination boards, etc. The total of eight hours can also include preparation time, but the teaching you are preparing must be face-to-face.
If you would like to arrange teaching mobility with us here at Berlin International, please enquire about the degree programs we offer and send us your CV along with a detailed proposal for the teaching you would like to do. You can send these documents by e-mail to the International Exchange Office at least one month before the planned date of your visit.
