Dr. Shigeo Watanabe - Business Administration
Shigeo Watanabe studied mechanical engineering and economics at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Parallel to his undergraduate studies, he engaged in several projects at an international environmental organization. These were the privatization of urban water supply systems, corporate social responsibility and sustainable development of cultural landscapes. After his study in Japan, he has moved to Berlin and completed a Master’s degree program and a PhD in the Division of Resource Economics at Humboldt University of Berlin. In his PhD dissertation, he investigated product development of and trade in indigenous natural products through field trips in Africa and analyzed economic institutions and organizations from the local to the global levels. After his PhD, he had worked as a project manager in a project on vocational teachings in agriculture and horticulture at Humboldt University of Berlin. He supported student groups and supervised their graduation works. He is interested in sustainability of society and he has published some articles on renewable energies and regional development through the renaturation of river in Germany.
