Barbora Demovič
Graphic Design and Visual Communication
Barbora Demovič is a Slovak designer living and working in Berlin. She holds a master's degree in graphic design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Brno University of Technology and studied as an exchange student at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig. She has been running her own practice since 2019, working both independently and in close collaboration with other designers. Barbora works with various European clients, mostly in the cultural sector. Besides developing conceptual and design solutions for her clients with a focus on visual identities, she is interested in the politics of design and the intersections between graphic design and other creative disciplines such as writing, curating, and multimedia art. She has exhibited in solo and group shows in Slovakia, Portugal, Germany, Scotland, and the Czech Republic.
Barbora is also part of Futuress – an international learning and publishing platform with a mission to democratise design education and amplify marginalised voices. She has led design workshops and lectures in Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Spain. As an intersectional queer feminist, she has worked closely with and for several organisations and collectives in Eastern Europe advocating for gender equality and social justice.
