Andrea Rausch, Dipl.-Ing. (FH)
Interior Architecture/Interior Design
Andrea Männel was born in Freiburg, in the southwest of Germany. After her diploma studies in Interior Architecture at the Hochschule Trier, with a focus on structural and technical theory, she came to Berlin in 2012 to prove and broaden her knowledge. By working together with a small Berlin architect’s office and Germany’s largest national non-profit provider of nurseries, daycare centers, and after-school clubs she found her focus: conceptual (re)designs for daycare centers and the development of a new approach for a pedagogical (interior) architecture. Her main concern is the interdisciplinary exchange with others involved in the planning and later use – as well as the social liability and challenges involved in creating educational architecture. She is vice chairwoman of the BDIA Berlin-Brandenburg (since 2019) and a member of the delegates’ meeting and of the board of the Berliner Architektenkammer (since 2017), where she represents the interest of her professional discipline.
